Our Quest
India is recognized as the world's largest functioning democracy, with a vibrant and fully engaged electorate. With its large English speaking base and educational system, India has contributed an abundant supply of skilled professionals to the world community.
In the United States, Westchester County in New York has a significant representation of Indian Americans, so many of whom are leaders in their fields - corporate leaders, rain-makers on Wall Street, innovators in technology, medical professionals, business owners and diamond merchants. Indeed the next generation is already making its mark in academic circles, where it is very well represented in the best educational institutions, as students and as members of faculty.
India Center, located in Westchester County, seeks to marshal and centralize the rich heritage that is India, its diverse religions, it's extensive and colorful cultural diversity and give it a home here in New York. From its offices in Elmsford, New York, India Center has gained significant representation in the community. It has launched a plethora of activities, particularly in the past two years, that have been the talk of the community. The headquarters of the organization provide a venue to celebrate all occasions of significance to the community, a support system for new immigrants and for seniors, and social and cultural activities that span the spectrum of India's diverse communities. There are lessons in languages, in music, instrument and dance forms.
Indeed, from well attended social gatherings on special occasions to cultural functions featuring world renowned performers of Indian origin, India Center continues to leave an enduring impression in Westchester and the Tri-State area.
