Through the India Center, we are able to celebrate our culture and feel a sense of togetherness. And yet, when we are faced with life’s emotional, difficult, challenges, a wall of loneliness and silence can divide us from others, as we are unable to share our problems.
The range of issues is huge and covers all age groups: parenting, growing old in this country, grief and loss, caregiving, addiction, work life balance and depression are just a few of the issues. We all want help without sacrificing our privacy.
The hardest part is to figure out where to begin and how to find reliable information on local support systems in Westchester. As we all know, searching on Google is a random and unreliable experience.
Empowering Minds is your tool in seeking resources to help guide you through your challenges with complete confidentiality. Whether you are trying to find local help to deal with family issues or to support a friend, we are here to provide reliable information on the India Center website. Education and raising awareness is another key component. What we focus on will depend on your input and what you feel is important.
*To provide the Westchester Indian-American community with tools to manage life’s emotional challenges with the utmost respect for user privacy
*To provide well-researched, comprehensive information on available support and resources in Westchester, online support across the nation, and relevant reference material
*To educate and raise awareness among all members by hosting lectures by experts, panel discussions and forums for free interchange of ideas
We all contribute to this blog. India Center Committee.
